About this one
28 litres, fluorescent orange, with a reflective band around the middle and a roll top dry compartment big enough for a phone, a key and a jacket. It tows on a waist belt and it floats behind you rather than under you.
The point is not buoyancy, it is being seen. A head in a swell is invisible to a boat at two hundred metres and an orange float is not, which is why several open water events now refuse a start without one.
It is not a life jacket and it is not certified as one. It will hold a resting swimmer for a while, it will not hold an unconscious one face up, and a dry bag is only dry if the top is rolled three times.
